For the last three breeding seasons, Black-throated Divers (a bird species protected by law) have failed to breed at a loch in Badenoch & Strathspey. Using funds granted by BBCF, conservationists were able to deploy information signs around the site to raise awareness and help protect future efforts.

Moray Hydrotherapy Pool

The pool is now operating at full capacity with the new pump, three are required as they are rotated as two are always in continual use. Also users can now use the new £1 coins in the lockers in the changing area. The Berry Burn Community Fund has always helped the Hydrotherapy Pool when we have approached them for funding and this case was no different and is greatly appreciated.

Forres Area Community Trust

FACT used the funding received from Berry Burn to develop the Forres Online project over an 8 month period. During this time, staff delivered free drop-in sessions to help local people learn new skills using the internet and digital devices. The funding also enabled the project to run four training sessions for volunteers and members of the public. A total of 119 people attended sessions and benefited from the free support.

Anderson’s Primary Parent Council

A Climbing Boulder has been installed at Anderson’s Primary school which is for the whole local Forres community to use. The project provides a new experience and pathways into climbing. The boulders are physically, mentally and educationally challenging, they encourage communication/cooperation between pupils resulting in increased skills development – both physical in their coordination, strength and flexibility and social enjoyment.

Forres Features Ltd CIC

It is very difficult to get an event like this off the ground and it would certainly not have been possible to launch in 2016 without the funding from Berry Burn. They took a chance on a new venture and were first to provide us with funds. Now we have a fantastic new event for Forres.
