Rafford Village Hall

The Finderne 2022 calendar was created by the community, for the community.  Local people of all ages benefitted from attending field trips led by professional photographer Nick Gibbons throughout the year. This project has greatly benefitted those who have gained enthusiasm, enjoyment and built confidence. It has resulted in the creation of new friendships and has been great fun. There is no doubt, it has motivated people to take walks whatever the weather and appreciate our beautiful landscape from many different perspectives. All profits from these calendars have been gratefully received by Edinkillie and Rafford Village Halls. With much appreciation to all participants.

Rothes Playpark Refurbishment Group

Thank you to Berry Burn Community fund for supporting Rothes Community Playpark.  We are so grateful for your belief in and contribution to the project.  The new park will benefit children, families, our community and businesses for many years to come.  Thank you for helping us create an exciting, colourful and inclusive play space for our community.

Advie Hall & Children’s Fund

We are extremely pleased and grateful for the generous funding provided by the Berry Burn Community Fund to replace the boiler of Advie Hall. Without this support, the local community would have no longer have a functioning hall to host events, thus ending the history of our social gatherings and exposing the historic building to structural damage. With the completion of this project, we are confident we can offer the village the much beloved gatherings and keep the hall alive as well as enable its sustainable management.

Forres Area Soccer 7s

Forres Area Soccer7s took 20 kids and 12 adults to Forres Twinned Town of Vienenburg, Germany in July 2022.  The overall cost of the trip was just under £12000.  £4000 of the trip was funded by a grant from the Berry Burn Community Fund, which we are extremely grateful for. The rest of the trip was funded by Fundraising Activities, Sponsorship and personal contributions.

This trip enabled 20 kids aged between 7 and 16 to spend 1 week in Vienenburg where they took part in an action-packed itinerary which finished with a football festival with JSG Harley.

Forres & District Pipe Band

Forres and District Pipe Band were grateful to the funding from Berry Burn which allowed them to subsidise the trip to celebrate the 1100 Anniversary of the State of Goslar. The town of Vienenburg, Goslar is twinned with Forres. The band played in front of the Imperial Palace and the historic railway station in Vienenburg. The highlight of the trip was playing with the Hamburg Police Orchestra. They played a special rendition of Highland Cathedral. The funding allowed members of  the band from 14 to 69 yrs enjoy a memory making trip whilst representing their own home town on an international stage.

Moray Food Plus

Moray Food Plus worked in partnership with Forres Area Community Trust to develop a zero waste pantry in Forres. The pantry provides an affordable shopping option while ensuring quality surplus food remains in the food chain rather than go to waste.

Moray School Bank

Moray School Bank supports the Children and Young People of Moray with school uniform and warm winter clothing. Support from the Berry Burn Community Fund has directly invested in its community helping children locally return to school, happy, confident, and ready to learn.  As we offer the dignity of choice to children and young people, choosing the style of uniform they would like to wear, has contributed highly to positive feedback from families, referral agencies and schools we work with. This is key to confidence building and readiness to learn.

Grantown Tennis Club

We achieved the weatherproofing of the traditional timber clad and corrugated iron roofs of our tennis club buildings. The buildings are now preserved for many years to come and with an up to date olive green colour the buildings are like new. The Berry Burn Community Fund recognises the importance of supporting organisations like our tennis club who in turn support the local community.

Grantown Baby & Toddlers Group

Grantown-on-Spey Baby & Toddler Group is run by parents and carers to provide a safe and friendly space for babies and toddlers to play together. Children range from just a few months to three years old. Our sessions run twice weekly at Inverallan Church in Grantown during term-time.

The group wanted to create a cleaner and more comfortable environment for babies by purchasing new colourful, waterproof playmats. We also bought a small soft play set to encourage children to climb and crawl. These items are now in regular use by our group and the children love them.
